This package is meant for urban and suburban lots generally less than 1/2 acre(~20,000 sq ft). For projects larger than 20,000 sq feet, please contact us directly to find out what is right for you!

Prices start at $500 and include:

Site visit and consultation

Two hours by members of our expert team

  • Team includes Permaculturists, Landscape Designers, and certified Journeyman beekeeper
  • Assessment: permaculture and horticulture
    • Assessment of site’s flow and patterns, aspect (sun exposure), soil, systems, water use, plant health, and potential productivity
    • Suggestions for increasing soil quality: sources, actions to take
    • Design suggestions for keeping more water onsite: land contouring, plantings, adding organic matter, collection and dispersal systems
  • Assessement: pollinator viability
    • current forage capacity and capability
    • potential hive locations and forage improvements

Site visit report

(within 2 weeks of visit)

  • Sketch (not to scale) of garden design
  • Plant lists
    • Pollinator forage plants for your garden
    • Plants to increase beneficial relationships among your existing plants
    • Plants to maximize unused spaces
  • Site-tailored guidelines to maximize edible features
  • List of organic suppliers and local sources

Basic Hive Hosting

  • 1 or 2 colonies of honey bees or mason bees installed and managed* for one year, depending on site capability. This requires a signed hive hosting agreement.
  • One 1-pound jar of honey

* Hive management is limited to households within Seattle city limits. If you are outside of our service area, we can still install the hives and will try to refer you to a nearby beekeeper to manage them, or you can manage them yourself.

Education

  • One free admission to a permaculture, chicken-rearing, or bee class offered in Seattle
  • Ongoing honeybee education
    • Access and information from beekeeper during routine site visits
    • Please inquire about directed, hands-on teaching program (additional charges may apply)

One dozen seed balls

(small, clay balls embedded with seed) to provide more forage in your neighborhood
